How
CSA has began
On a beautiful spring day in
2006,
Catherine
and Patrick Smith from St. John's Episcopal Church visited our farm.
We immediately
became very good friends and soon their church agreed to sponsor our
CSA
program.
May 31st was the
first delivery day to Clarksville.
We began with 30 members, but that quickly doubled over a
week.
Soon after, a press release
in The Leaf-Chronicle
greatly enhanced our visibility
such that we had to limit membership to 100.
So
quickly did we experience success that our farm had to work very hard to keep up
with the increase in demand;
however, it has been very exciting and energizing
Organic Certification
Though, since our establishment in 1995 weĦŻve only raised
organic produce,
yet it was after demand from retailers and consumers from other
cities and states grew
what we realized the need for
certification.
We have been USDA certified operation in
accordance to the National Organic Program by
Quality Certification Service (352-377-0133) since 2000.
